MISSION IMPOSSIBLE
MISSION IMPOSSIBLE
It was another fantastic day here at Camp Timberlake! As I am writing this, all of our boys are sound asleep; some are even camping out in the wilderness, and are dreaming about the great day that it was.
The day started off strong with a delicious breakfast and then the campers yelled their hearts out in a rousing morning yell. Counselor Joe B. then gave us a great chapel talk in which he highlighted that Man is never alone. After chapel and cabin cleanup, it was off to first and second period, where there were some stand out performances. William B. crushed it in 1st period horseback riding, as did Brendan D. and Riley D., while Connor Y. and Carter S. were nailing some bulls eyes in riflery. There were also some trips out in the morning, and Jimbo D. did an especially great job on the waterskiing trip, and James and Jack B. did their thing out on the mountain biking trip. Then it was onto lunch, where camp was treated to a wonderful meal of everyone’s favorite…pizza! During lunch came the first installment of the “Timberlympics” which is sure to become a crowd favorite. Big Slaty took home the crown for cleanest cabin of the day, sending its table into a frenzy as lunch wound down. After lunch and the best time (at least for the staff).. rest time, free time commenced with everyone rushing down to enjoy some sweet treats at the trading post. After that, it was on to afternoon activities, where Trey F. and Henry H. really improved their stroke. At the same time, Mason B. and Henry B. were channeling their inner Chef Boyardee and whipped up some tasty cookies in cooking class.
As classes started to come to a close, it was time for a dinner of chicken and broccoli, and then the big evening activity reveal! Counselor Davis B. ran around the dining hall like a mad man before ultimately roaring out, “MISSION IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!!” This was a brand new game for this group of campers, but it was an immediate hit. I would like to especially recognize Henry M., Jack W., and Griffin P. who led their tribes admirably in the Mission Impossible “Control Room” It was a truly great game filled with many twists and turns, and I am excited to announce who the winner is tomorrow.
Once the game ended, the campers headed off with their cabins for some awesome post evening activities including some epic hide and go seek, hanging by the fire, and even having a nice relaxing free swim. That’s all I’ve got for tonight, I cannot thank you parents enough for sending your boys here to camp this summer. There truly is something magical about this place and your boys are who brings that magic.
