February Construction Update
February Construction Update
There are so many exciting things happening at our new Timberlake property that it feels nearly impossible to encapsulate it all in a blog, but we’re going to give it our best shot!
As many of you may know we are scheduled to open the new Timberlake property on July 1, 2018 and are hoping to move that date forward to June 1st, 2018. In light of that, we’ve been hard at working creating the perfect place to continue the story of Timberlake. Here are some highlights:
The Tuck:
Our new dining hall, The Tuck, has a roof! Perched overlooking the lake, you can already get a sense of how incredible the view and building will be. We’re especially excited about the brand new, state of the art kitchen, going in for our awesome kitchen staff and the front porch facing the lake. Below the dining hall will be the hostess office, infirmary (we call it the Wishing Well) and the laundry room.
Cabins:
We’re excited to report that our cabins are nearing completion. With the interior woodwork done, all they really need is a coat of Timberlake green paint, flooring, and some bunk beds. The pictures below are of Greybeard (our oldest boy’s cabin).
Lakeside bridge:
We recently completed construction on a pedestrian bridge that spans one of the fingers of our new lake. This bridge will connect the Tuck to our chapel for years to come. Even though the lake is drained right now, you can still see why we think this will be one of the prettiest spots in camp.
Outback(Puppy Camp):
The rumors are true: puppy camp is coming to Timberlake! We’ve turned what was an old stable into our puppy camp and pottery facilities (we call it Outback). Now all we need are a few dogs.
So what’s next? There’s still a lot to do but building our new waterfront will take center stage over the next couple weeks. Additionally, we’ll finish out the insides of the Tuck and the Mark (our gym). We are beyond excited to share this new property with all of you soon. Stay tuned for more updates soon!
117 days until summer,
