Today was another Glorious day here at Camp Timberlake. We woke up to very cool weather as we walked down to breakfast. We ate Pancakes and Sausages to start the day. A classic! After breakfast, we did the morning yell, as always, and headed to the chapel. At chapel, we sang some songs followed by a true story from Chancellor Reynolds that took place on a Backpacking trip while he was a CIT at camp just a few years ago. After chapel, the boys headed to clean their cabins. The cabin of Further In won cabin cleanup today with a perfect ten!!!

We had two awesome trips go out today. Liam B, Laban C, Nolan O, Odin O, Oliver M, and Willard F had a fun-packed day fly fishing on the North Toe. The North Toe is an excellent river to fly fish in the North Carolina mountains. Our other trip today was a Hiking trip to Upper Creek Falls. Upper Creek Falls is a beautiful waterfall with a swimming hole and a natural rock water slide. On this incredibly fun trip was Ford C, John Grady M, Liam T, William H, Will N, Cole G, Pierce S, Gage S, Luca M, Mac G, and Steven G.

We had a spectacular day back here at camp. The Timberlympics were held during a swimming and diving class today. Mac G got a silver medal, and Boone K got a gold medal in swimming. William H got a gold medal in diving. Many campers earned bars today, and many others made significant progress toward bars. Among those campers, Quinn S got his gold groupings in riflery and is very close to finishing the bar. In archery class, Bay J earned his bronze, and Theo T completed his last twenty-yard grouping. In a fitness class, Tommy F earned his silver and is already on his way to earning gold. Campers learned how to throw on the wheel today in pottery class. Campers had an awesome day ripping around the pump track in mountain biking class. Oliver G made substantial progress in mastering the wheelie today as well. Campers always have so much fun in their daily activities here at camp.

Today at lunch, we ate delicious ham and cheese sandwiches on croissants with potato chips. At the soup bar, we had tomato soup (the best soup at camp). At the end of lunch, Henry announced the winner of last night’s Copa Del Rio game……THE GOLDEN EAGLES. Tonight, the boys are competing in a very competitive game of Sock War. Sock War is a staple here at camp, normally played on the first night. This time, it got rained out on the first night and moved to today.

Tonight is a big night for a handful of our senior campers. Quinn S, Theo T, Declan L, Matthew A, Cian M, and Radford W will be doing their Solo Thirteens tonight. A Solo Thirteen is an incredible opportunity for campers who are thirteen or older to experience camping by themselves for one night in the woods on camp property. This opportunity is not only fun, but the boys will also earn a mark for completing it. That wraps up another exciting and fun day here at Camp Timberlake!
