Welcome back Camp Timberlake friends and families!

I am here to take you through our awesome and amazing tropical Tuesday at camp! Every day at camp is great, but it’s even better when we start the morning with my personal favorite: bacon and french toastings! It’s a known fact that the French do make their toast sticks better.

The campers left energized by the protein packed breakfast straight into an amazing session of chapel where our Senior camp counsellor Jarell R gave a wonderful message on who Christ is and the importance of how He rescues us from sin and darkness. The key verse during this message was taken from Luke 19:10 which says “For the Son of Man came to seek and save the lost”

Moving on, the boys eagerly cleaned their cabins with an all round good score but you’re prooobbbbablyyyyyyy wondering who were the winners of cabin cleanup today……. With a score of a PERFECT 10 STOMPERS KNOB!!!! Stomper’s knob have been on an all summer sweep winning the golden plunger in almost every session (Golden plunger is bestowed upon the cabin with the best average cabin cleanup score. It also comes with a pizza party on the last day). As the weather warmed up and the sun continued to rise in the sky, we had several campers leave on some amazing trips out of camp. Wilson F, Thomas R, Reynolds A, and David C all journeyed on the French Broad Section 9 in their kayaks paired with the rafters: Robert D, John M, Liles F, Alek K, Titus W, Jack M, Cole G, Kai J, Pierce S, Alden S, Connor P who also journeyed on the French Broad Section 9.

For lunch, we had what I consider a top 5 lunch meal at camp: Greek Day. Campers enjoyed pita pockets of meat, tzatziki sauce, hummus, tomato, olives, and the best topping of all- feta cheese. You can never go wrong with Greek day at camp. The Golden Eagles took the victory for Infinity War yesterday. Never fret Black Bears, redemption is just a few short hours away.

Afternoon activities rolled around and much adventure was still waiting to be had. Baxter L and Watts G both received their gold in Basketball which is a really hard achievement entailing 15 free throws in a row, 8/10 3 pointers and many variations of dribbling and layups. The boys are making the most of these last few days of camp and making sure they rake in those bars!  Reid S received his gold in field sports, Bane B and James S received their gold in cricket and Ari P received his bronze in Rocketry. Great job gentlemen!

Dinner was served as the Tuck filled with the beautiful aroma of pulled pork, bbq sauce, bread buns and salad. The trick with this dinner is to get a separate bowl and put the pulled pork of your serving mixed with the bbq sauce to get bbq pulled pork. Then insert into the bun with a topping of some salad and you have created a Michelin star dish (The Jarell Robinson Special). As bellies were filled, a spirit of determination and tribal victory crept into the room. Campers were hanging on to the anticipation of finding out tonight’s big game. Give me a drumroll because it’s……………BATTLE BALLLL!!!

Stay tuned for the winners of this great battle tomorrow.

This has been your friendly neighborhood journalist Jarell R. I hope you have an amazing day.
