A fantastic Father Son weekend is in the books. It’s hard to say good bye to such a great group of guys, so instead we’ve just been saying See you next summer!

We started off our Sunday morning with a delicious meal of French Toast Sticks, bacon, strawberries and blueberries. The morning was cool and brisk but a strong morning yell does wonders to get the blood flowing. After singing some camp favorites in chapel, including the banana song and On Jordan’s stormy banks, Seth shared our true story, reminding us of how our heavenly father loves us no matter what.

We took a group picture all together and then headed off to our Sunday Funday activities. These are always a hit in the summertime and today was no exception. Dads and sons chose between the frog catching contest, the sand castle building contest, the fort building contest, fishing in the lake, Thunderball and 9 square on the beach and a tradition unlike any other, Sunday at the Masters (our Sunday disc golf tournament). A good time was had by all and I think some of today’s forts were built so sturdily that they could survive the winter months.

We wrapped up by sharing a meal together at lunch. Chicken salad on croissants, fruit salad, kale mac salad (lots of salad) pretzels, lemonade and our famous S’mores cookies made for a perfect finish. We also announced the winner of last night’s evening activity..The Golden Eagles!

As dads and sons head home today, we are so thankful for the time we’ve had together and are already looking forward to an amazing summer in 2024!

Until then,
