Father Son Weekend finished with a flourish today and we are already wishing we could turn back the clock and start all over again.

Last night after dinner we got to play one of the greatest games in Camp Timberlake’s history: Commando. Commando is really tough to fully convey in words, because how can you encapsulate the chaos of 8,000 water balloons flying through the air in just a few short sentences? You can’t really, but all I can say is I didn’t think the fun and intensity could go up after sock war, but we found a way to raise the level all the way up to 11. After the dust settled and the balloons stopped flying, high fives were exchanged by all and the boys capped off the night with some s’mores by the campfire. A perfect end to a great day.

Sunday morning arrived and with it came a blanket of fog that surrounded our beloved mountains in mystic loveliness. A delicious breakfast of pancakes, bacon, strawberries and blueberries awaited our guys and we wolfed it down. After taking our group picture we went to chapel and sang some camp favorites like “every move I make” and ‘On Jordan’s Stormy Banks’. Our assistant director, Caleb, told a true story and we sang the Camp Hymn loud and proud.

Sunday Funday activities filled the rest of our morning. Some of the highlights included the sandcastle building contest, fort building contest, pickleball tournament and frog catching contest. Archery and Riflery remained popular spots for the guys and more than and few fish were reeled in on the lake! We closed our weekend with a delicious lunch and the announcement of Commando’s winner…The Golden Eagles!

We were sad to see all the cars driving off property but take great solace in knowing that summer camp is only two weeks away! Thanks again for sharing your families with us this weekend and we’ll see you this summer!
