It was a beautiful but bittersweet day here at Camp Timberlake as we said goodbye to our 1A campers. The day dawned bright and clear and we had a sunny morning for checkout. It was fun watching parents and campers reunite and to hear the beginnings of what was sure to be a car ride home full of stories shared of adventures had and friends made. All the same we will really miss our 1A guys! The good news is that goodbyes at camp are never forever, and all throughout property the cries of “See you next summer” could be heard echoing off the hills.

Our full session campers themselves did not stop the fun and adventure. This morning we sent out a big day hike to Upper Creek falls, which, besides being a beautiful location to hike and enjoy a picnic lunch, also boasts one of the best swimming holes east of the Mississippi. Ryker, R, Henry O, Noah P, Banks P, Ryan H, Quinn B, Elliot A, David F, McKean K, Henry L, Dakota M and Rhodes R all enjoyed a gorgeous and fun filled day in the wilderness.

Back at camp our other 4 week campers enjoyed Shrimp Po Boys and curly fries for lunch, along with a side of grapes (nature’s candy, in my humble opinion). The afternoon was full of pickleball and free swim and after a dinner of tortellini, salad and breadsticks, all campers and staff headed to the Mark for an action packed game of Medic Battleball. Medic Battleball is essentially Tibmerlake’s traditional battleball game with the added twist of medic who can revive fallen warriors. It was a blast up in the Mark and as I type this, the guys are enjoying campfire and s’mores to round out another great day at camp.

To all our amazing 1A families, thank you for sharing your sons with us this summer. Continue to follow along here all summer to keep your boys posted on who wins the banner, which cabin wins the golden plunger and much much more. And we can’t wait to see you back next summer!

And for our Full session campers the adventure continues! Thanks for joining us for the ride.
