Good evening from the beautiful mountains of North Carolina! Wednesday at Camp Timberlake was cool, exciting, and full of fun and adventure—just the way we like it.

The day started with a peaceful walk to breakfast. The boys enjoyed a tasty meal of maple breakfast sandwiches, sausage patties, and hash browns. After eating, everyone met outside for the morning yell, led by our energetic counselor, Zack R. It was loud, exciting, and got everyone ready for the day.

Next, we went to Chapel. We sang some of our favorite songs, and “Noah (What?)” was a big hit. Then, Winston Horn gave a great message. He reminded us that Jesus is the one who can help us when we are stuck in sin.

After chapel, the boys cleaned their cabins, trying their best to win the famous Golden Plunger award. Then it was time for a full day of fun activities.

Two groups of boys went off camp for special trips. Banks P., Ryker R., Henry O., Mason S., and Cypher K. went kayaking on the French Broad River. They paddled through fast rapids and had a great time learning new skills. At the same time, CJ R., Owen M, Penn S., Lewis J., Harrison C., and Robbie G. went on a tough mountain biking trip to the G5 trail system in Old Fort. They rode hard and did an awesome job on the trail.

Back at camp, the other boys had a busy day with classes and games. They practiced skills and enjoyed playing together. For lunch, we had Sloppy Joes, waffle fries, and a fresh salad bar. We also announced the cleanest cabins of the day, with Stomper’s Knob and Hawksbill tying for 1st place with a score of 9.75. After lunch, we found out who won last night’s tribal games. Both the Golden Eagle and Black Bear tribes won because there were two games—one for Junior Camp and one for Senior Camp. Everyone left the dining hall happy and full.

The day also had lots of fun moments. Cruz D. lost a tooth, which is always a big deal at camp! Will S. caught three fish and was very proud. In cricket, Adams H and Barret G. are both one step away from getting their bronze bars. William L. made Timberlake history by earning the first-ever cricket bar! Seb C bowled a perfect over in cricket—every bowl was just right. Evan G. earned his bronze bar in climbing after working hard. Tucker L. reached the highest level in riflery by earning his gold bar. And Kenny C. did a cool combat roll on Section 9, which got big cheers from the crowd.

Dinner was delicious. We had cheese ravioli, breadsticks, and broccoli. Dessert was a yummy chocolate brownie.

Then, the whole camp gathered at the Tuck to hear what the evening game would be. The Sultan of Fun came out to make the big announcement, and the campers went wild with cheers and chants. The energy was amazing! And the tribal game for this tonight was El Presidente!!!!!

Now, as the sun sets and the stars come out, the boys went back to their cabins to shower and fell asleep, tired from a full day of fun. We had a great time today, and we can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.
