Hello Timberlake!!!

It is me, Kate again! the rocketry teacher, hope you have seen our photos launching rockets lately! Today was Tropical Tuesday and all our staff were wearing tropical shirts with flowers and beach style, as I am Timberwoman, I was wearing my favorite tropical gear. Today was a very hot day in Marion, but as you know, hydration never takes vacation, so all kids filled their bottles of water before we got some breakfast!!

Today we ate french toasted with some meat, and we had a new milk today, i love it! We began the day with a lot energy since is our second to last Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday activities, so kids were desperate to get some bars for little chief ceremony! Personally, in my 4 periods full of kids, adding the final details and engines to launch, we launch more than 30 rockets today. But rocketry is more than just launching,  for your gold bar you must know Newtons 3 Laws!

Not only rocketry was busy today, there were so many other activities like swimming and sports activities. During 1st and 2nd period riflery was booming: Edward S got his gold, Logan D got his bronze, Michael C got his silver, Emmett M got his bronze. In waterfront, Brooks got his bronze in swimming, Kenny C kept it rolling in kayaking, Phillip H got his gold in canoeing, what a splash! Despite the hot sun, our sportsmen made great bars. In pickleball Pace W got his bronze and so did Lewis S. Edward S and William L got their gold and Miller S and Henry T their bronze in cricket.

During Lunch we got mini corndogs and macaroni and cheese, it is my favorite part of the day because they announce lats night tribe game winner, and you PROOOOooooblably wonder who won… and it was THE BLACK BEARS! Congrats to the Black Bears, they did a great job attacking the  purple Jonh… sorry I mean Thanos and stole the infinity stones, that was pretty awesome, I really wonder how these kids don’t get tired from running all around camp almost everyday, because camp is huge, and has some major hills!!!

During free time, kids were able to complete their bars, and at the end of 3rd and 4th period, William Q got a gold in basketball, Duma rode a bike! Tucker L got his silver in guitar. Alex H shot 4 groupings in archery. Stephen J and Tucker L got their gold in improv. Arnold A got his silver in climbing.

Before dinner it was mail call as usual. Our campers do love hearing from their families and dinner tonight tasted homemade.  We ate some delicious Hawaiian meat balls with bbq sauce and pineapples, some rice and sweet potatoes! We then heard the sultan of fun announce tonight’s evening activity, Senior camp Great Escape and Jr/Intermediate camp cabin night! The seniors played hard and the juniors had a blase. Turtleback played pickleball and had popsicles. Hawksbill did the slip n slide and then s’mores. Finch’s Landing also got to do the slip N Slide. Further Up had the chance to share camp fire and ate some marshmallows. Huckleberry played in the Mark and also had s’mores.

As the day comes to and end, it was another awesome day at camp, hot,  but awesome.  I am so happy kids are working hard on their bars and having so much fun too!
