What’s up Camp Timberlake!

Every day at camp is special, but there’s nothing quite like a Tropical Tuesday! 

We kicked off the day with a delicious breakfast of biscuits and gravy, eggs, and hash browns before heading to chapel. There, we sang The Banana Song, Nothing but the Blood, and On Jordan’s Stormy Banks, and wrapped up with a true story shared by one of Finch’s Landing’s coolest counselors, Will Temple.

As morning activities began, two awesome trips left for the morning. Palmer E, William L, Trevor S, Tobias C, William C, Will M, Jude V, Garrett L, Charlie F, Henry M, Patrick T, and Angelo G spent the morning rafting on the French Broad River, where they even got the chance to surf the rafts! Meanwhile, Grayson S, Oliver O, Gus E, Ford Z, Peter K, Reed P, Ellis W, William F, JB S, and Teddy S spent the morning hiking and rock sliding at Upper Creek Falls. 

Lunch approached soon after with a camp favorite, Stromboli! The hard fought battle of daily cabin clean up was won by none other than Big Slaty with a perfect 10 for cabin cleanliness. Great job, boys! The mighty men of Greybeard also deserves an honorable mention for scoring a 9.75. We also found out the long awaited winners of Battle for Middle Earth. Congratulations to the GOLDEN EAGLES!!! After all the action, campers enjoyed some well earned rest time followed by everyone’s favorite part of the day, free time.  As third and fourth period began, accomplishments were being made. Stephen J received his silver in archery and Garrett L flashed the silver route on the climbing tower! 

Following a full day of activities and adventure, the boys gathered for another fantastic dinner featuring chicken carnitas, rice, toppings, and a loaded nacho bar. Churros topped off the meal for dessert before the much-anticipated announcement of tonight’s tribal game. The Black Bears and the Golden Eagles will go head to head in a game of Search and Destroy.
