A little rain couldn’t put a damper on the Timberlake spirit today! Low clouds hung over the mountains and a light drizzle tapped the rooftops, but that just made camp feel extra cozy, and it certainly didn’t slow down the fun. We kicked off the morning with a hearty breakfast of warm biscuits, fluffy eggs, and crispy hash browns, plus the ever-important glass of water to jump-start our hydration. Bellies full, the morning yell rolled across camp like thunder, and with that, another big day was underway.

We kicked things off this morning with a warm and hearty breakfast of biscuits, scrambled eggs, and crispy hash browns—perfect fuel for a cool and misty day. After the morning yell echoed through the rainy hills, we gathered for a chapel given by Steven C about how God saves us from our sins and loves us in whatever state we are in. We then launched into another action-packed day!

During morning activities a light rain fell but that didn’t stop many of our boys from continuing to hone their skills and work towards their bars. Powers T earned his bronze in Backpacking. At Basketball Banks S and Mason L earned their bronzes while Eli F and Baxter L earned their silvers. At the riflery range David C recorded two groupings for his gold bar requirements, Bo R earned his bronze and Liam T earned his silver. Way to go boys!

Lunch brought a camp favorite with a twist: taco in a bag! Campers got creative customizing their meals, adding all the fixings to their chip bags, with sweet grapes on the side to round out the meal. Today’s cabin cleanup champs were Tiger Tooth and Big Piney took home the gold today. Their attention to detail and teamwork were unmatched—even on a soggy day!

Despite the weather, Timberlake was on the move. A fly fishing trip headed out this morning with Chance M, Titus W, Mason L, Tommy W, Chase C, and John Grady M hoping for some great catches (and maybe a good story or two). A day hike crew also hit the trails: Cash K, Oliver F, Brooks H, Ben R, Cole E, Summer D, and Franklin P braved the misty mountain paths. And of course, Greybeard took off on their trip as well—Bay J, Oliver G, Cian M, Jonah N, Geo PC, Radford W, Nathan T, Ben C, and Matthew A were all ready for their big adventure. Greybeard started their day helping out at a children’s home, enjoyed their afternoon out floating on a river, and finished the day with a nice dinner all together!

Back at camp, the rain abated in the afternoon and the boys were back at it in the lake and all around camp. In swimming class Russell M, Chase O and McGinn M all earned their silver bars. Over in Kayaking David C worked on his back deck roll and in fishing Liles F caught a beautiful blue gill. Up in mountain biking SJ G earned his bronze and Davis O nailed a perfect wheelie. At the tower Alden S and James N earned bonze bars in climbing. Liam C got his bronze in pickleball and Wesley B earned his bronze in fencing.

Dinner tonight was classic comfort food at its finest—country fried steak, mashed potatoes, and green beans. A perfect end to a cool day at camp!

To close out the day, we debuted a brand-new evening activity: Jedi Wars 2.0! Lightsabers, strategy, and some serious imagination were all in play as campers battled it out. Who will take the victory? You’ll have to stay tuned for tomorrow’s post to find out!

Rain or shine, today proved what we already know: Timberlake thrives on camaraderie, resilience, and a big sense of adventure. Whether casting a line in the drizzle, hiking through trails, or mastering a brand-new game under glowing lights, campers made the most of every moment. We can’t wait to share who emerges victorious from Jedi Wars 2.0—and to see what tomorrow brings. Stay tuned!

Until next time,
