And another great day was had at Camp Timberlake! Though the weather reports looked daunting the night before, our campers awoke to a bright and beautiful sunny sky overhead the lake to start their morning.  With the cool morning breeze flowing from the lake onto the porch of The Tuck, a sense of energy flowed through the camp that has carried throughout the day.  Our trips utilized this energy and set out for adventure immediately after breakfast, hitting the roads for a day in the highlands of NC.

Water Skiing took a trip out to Lake James with Barret C, Ryker R, Colin M, Rogers H, James K, and Hunter P. and shredded it!  Some say the wakes that they left are still moving boaters this very minute…

Backpacking set out for an overnight trip to Lookout Mountain in the Black Mountain Range!  On this gorgeous hike are Alejandro G, Mateo S, Alejandro D, Thomas B, Ben L, Paul R, Nick R, and Evan S.

Climbing also had a fantastic day at Snakes Den near Hendersonville, NC.  Climbers consisted of Samuel H, Charley M, Timmy M, Sam W, Alex F, and William B.  The climbers got to dominate routes ranging from 5.6 to 5.8 (that can be pretty hard!) while also rappelling from the top of the cliff, what a view!

Back at camp the activities were amped up with campers working on their bars.  In the dead aim game of Riflery, Ethan S. and Bryant C. earned their Bronze while Britt F. earned his Silver! Jumping over to the similar yet daring sport of Airsoft, Mac K. earned his Bronze, and in the old and honorable sport of Archery, Alex E. earned his Bronze.  Way to go guys!

The cool mountain air that flows over the lake and into our activities here at Camp Timberlake kept the psyche high for our campers in other activities across the board as well.  In Mountain Biking everyone learned and worked on their ready positions to climb and descend hills, preparing them for future trips out to scenic forests like DuPont.  In Field Sports, Roberto P. made some pretty great progress on his Bronze bar, and in the kitchen at Cooking, the campers whipped up some great marinara sauce.  Get them to show you after the session!

In Wrestling during 3rd and 4th periods, campers worked on head outside singles and doubles, and then wrestled actual matches!  It was a great time for campers to have some friendly competition.

Tonight, as I am writing this I can hear in the distance the campers competing as tribes in the Hardcore Parkour Championship.  The energy has definitely carried past dinner!

As the evening is drawing to a close the sun is setting over our lake and sending a lasting breeze over our camp.  That breeze will carry our campers into the night, and onto tomorrow’s adventure for another day at Camp Timberlake!
