The cool brisk air covered camp as the boys awakened for another action packed day at Timberlake!

We were greeted with red, white, and blue breakfast to start off the day celebrating the birthday of the U.S.A. The waffles topped with whipped cream and fresh berries gave the boys the start to the day that they would need. Following an epic singing of The Star-Spangled Banner, the boys headed outside for the morning yell where they yelled for the birth of freedom. At Chapel this morning, Hunter S. delivered a story to tell us about who Jesus was and how he always comes to our rescue. As the boys headed to clean the cabins it was prevalent that this July 4th was going to be one to remember.

Today two trips went on amazings adventures. A group of climbers that consisted of Braun O, Drew D, Noah B, Aaron C, Nick L, Will M, Jack L, Franchesco P, Jack B, Dillion M, and Gabe G ventured out for an overnight climb.

The mountain bikers tackled their trip today as well! Gabe W. Braxton F, CJ R, Mathew G, and Wade G all took on the trails.

Here at camp the boys have a busy morning taking on new challenges and working on earning bars. Just like that the bugle rang and it was time for lunch.

Today for lunch the boys had a Timberlake favorite: The Walking Taco. After the meal ended, campers were surprised with dessert at lunch! The boys had their popsicles as they bursted out into song to celebrate the 4th of July. After enjoying the treat, the race for the golden plunger continued! Today we had a tie, the cabins of Tiger Tooth and Finch’s Landing earned a very  respectable 9.5 to top off the competition. As the session continues, the race for the plunger tightens. The Sultan of Fun made an appearance at the end of lunch to deliver a message that all campers were waiting on. The Sultan announced the winner of Search and Destroy…..THE BLACK BEARS. The Black Bears sang their tribal hymns and celebrated a win and one step closer to the ultimate prize THE BANNER!

As everyone adventured back to the cabin for a much needed rest time, an afternoon of excitement was waiting.

During free time, the boys enjoyed snacks and drinks and played at the beach. The cabins of Stompers Knob, Little Slaty, Big Slaty, and Greybeard all enjoyed a Freedom Free swim!

The afternoon was packed full of fun as many campers made strides in their activities including  a long list of bars earned today.

Over at the ranges today, Mason S, Collier V, and George Y all hit their FIRST ever bullseye in archery! Something that will stay with them for all archery classes to come. Over at the other range, Brady M shot his first bronze bar grouping in Riflery!

Over at the climbing tower, Jack V climbed his gold route pushing him one step closer to obtaining that gold bar.

Ben P was tearing up the Guitar earning his Bronze bar today!

The water activities had a busy day down at Lake Newcombe! In Diving, Mac S, and Mac C earned their bronze bars while Elliot D did a gainer flip!

Down the dock, Powell M. worked on his roll in Kayaking while Fin C, Penn D, and Cole D all earned bronze bars in Canoeing. Meanwhile Duncan H. and William N practiced deep-water recoveries in the canoes.

After a busy day, the boys all rushed to dinner where they would enjoy Pork Loin, Cheesy Potatoes, and Green Peas with Apple turnovers for dessert. Little did they know that the night was still young. The Sultan of Fun made his return to camp to announce the tribal game for tonight… Quest for Middle Earth! The boys adventure into the camp’s newest game based on Lord of the Rings. Following another epic game on the quest for glory, everyone packed in to watch fireworks and celebrate the USA one more time.

As another outstanding day of camp ended, campers headed back to the cabins to get some much needed rest! With another day of camping on the horizon, no telling what is going to happen tomorrow!

Until next time, Wings UP,
