Today was a great Saturday here at Camp Timberlake! We started our day out with a bit of a chilly morning because of the recent rain, making it perfect weather for wearing a hoodie or sweatpants on your walk down to breakfast. At breakfast we enjoyed Timberlake’s classic pancakes, paired with sausage patties and a side of fruit. After fueling up for the day, we needed everyone to get fired up so we did the morning yell and then made our way to chapel. After chapel, everybody rushed back to their cabins to clean it as best they could, in pursuit of the golden plunger. After scrubbing and sweeping away, the first bugle rang and most of the boys headed to their normal first-period class. However, 16 brave men decided to forego their classes and participate in the infamous Timberlake Adventure Race!

In groups of four, these boys took on challenges together like building a raft to cross the lake, doing a MURPH workout as a group, and doing puzzles and even more. The four groups that competed were JM Elite, with Thomas M, Grant S, Declan Q, and Quinn S. Goku’s Brother, with Theo T, Kaito T, Reid S, and Thomas R. Lil P’s with Tommy F, Liam T, Stephen Q, and Reynolds A. And Fruity Aura, with William C, David T, Paxton S, and Matthew A. Of these four groups, only two were able to complete it, and those teams were JM Elite and Goku’s Brother. Congrats boys!

Along with the Adventure Race, we also had a rafting trip out to the Pigeon River today, where they paddled some amazing class three whitewater. The boys that went on the trip were Andrew G, Jameson S, Luca V, Cooper W, Hayden D, Drew F, Lawson H, Eli H, Landon K, Aaron W, Benjamin C, and Henry P.

After the first two activity periods, everyone gathered together again at the tuck for a delicious lunch of italian subs and pretzel bites. At lunchtime announcements, it was announced that the winner of cabin cleanup today was Greybeard with an incredible 9.75/10. The winner of last nights evening activity of tribal soccer and basketball were also announced and the Golden Eagles came out on top!

After lunch, everyone made their way back to their cabins for a much needed rest time and free time. After the third period bugle rang, everyone made their way to their classes where there was a ton of fun and growth all around camp. Over on the lake, Eli V got his roll in kayaking, and Bay J and Oliver G worked on their offside roles while SJ G, and Charlie H got their bronze bars in diving. At Mossflower, Fred M and Will S earned their bronze bars in rocketry, and at archery Charlie H shot a bullseye and worked towards his bronze bar!

At dinner we enjoyed chicken alfredo and biscuits with my personal favorite dessert, brownie delight. After dinner it was announced that tonights evening activity would be cabin night for junior and intermediate camp, and bandits rancheros for senior camp. For cabin night, Huckleberry and Finches Landing did a slip and slide and are camping out, Further In and Up did a free swim and s’mores at the chapel, Hawksbill and Tigertooth faced off in a game of kickball, and Turtleback did s’mores and then a free swim. 

When everybody’s evening activities were finished, everyone headed back to their cabins for showers and cabin time before heading to bed and getting a good nights rest for another full day at camp tomorrow!
