Sunday’s at camp are our Sabbath day, so we do things differently throughout the day. After waking up an hour later than usual, everyone headed to The Tuck to enjoy cinnamon rolls and sausage with chocolate milk for breakfast, a camp favorite. Once breakfast was over we participated in the morning yell with David R. Chapel on Sunday’s at Timberlake is also a little different. We sing more songs and rather than hearing a true story, we spend time in prayer. A counselor from each cabin prays for their cabin, we started with Huckleberry and finished with Greybeard. Cabin clean up happens as usual, but on Sunday’s it is worth double points (a great day to catch up in the race for the golden plunger). A few trips headed out today, an overnight climbing/mountain biking trip and a canoeing trip to Lake James.

After cabin clean up campers headed to morning activities. These activities are different from our daily ones. On Sunday’s we have frog catching and fishing, sandcastle building, fort building, card/board games, Sunday at the Masters (disc golf), and soccer and basketball at the Mark. We love how Sunday’s are slower and different than any other day of the week at camp. Lunch time came where we had chicken tenders and fries, with a surprise dessert of sugar cookies! Our lunchtime announcements started with Tiger Tooth winning cabin clean up today with a perfect 10 (20 if you count the double points). The Black Bears won Bandits Rancheros last night and Huckleberry won cabin night. After all the celebrations everyone headed off to the best hour, rest hour (a full hour today!!)

This afternoon was filled with trading post, a whole camp free swim and swimming, archery, pickleball, and basketball activities being open for boys to work on bars. For dinner on Sunday’s we have a cookout up at the mark, this is arguably the best of Sundays. After everyone enjoyed their burgers or hotdogs we headed down to the Chapel for vespers. We sang some silly songs and watched some skits, then transitioned to Chapel where we heard a true story from Camp Director John. After vespers senior camp ran off to play Battleship. Check back in tomorrow to find out who won!

Happy Sunday everyone!
