See You Next Summer Session 3A!
See You Next Summer Session 3A!
It was a beautiful but bittersweet day here at Camp Timberlake as we said goodbye to our 3A campers. After a fairly wet week here at camp it was wonderful to see the sun poking out this morning! We loved watching parents and campers reunite and to hear the beginnings of what was sure to be a car ride home full of stories shared, of adventures had, and friends made. All the same we will really miss our 3A guys! The good news is that goodbyes at camp are never forever, and all throughout property the cries of “See you next summer” could be heard echoing off the hills.
Our full session campers themselves did not stop the fun and adventure. Our full session guys enjoyed wings and onion rings for lunch with sides of ranch, blue cheese, celery and carrots. After the best hour (rest hour), some trading post and a free swim, all the campers piled into our camp vans for a hiking excursion. The boys submitted the Lookout Trail in Montreat this evening, one of the prettiest views of our mountains that can be found. After enjoying a packout dinner up on top of the mountain, they headed back to camp where the program staff surprised them with an ice cream party! Vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry ice cream complete with all the toppings made for a sweet food finale for the day. As I type this the gang is headed up to the Mark for an action packed game of Medic Battleball. Medic Battleball is essentially Tibmerlake’s traditional battleball game with the added twist of a medic who can revive fallen warriors. It’s a fan favorite for sure!
To all our amazing 3A families, thank you for sharing your sons with us this summer. Continue to follow along here all summer to keep your boys posted on who wins the banner, which cabin wins the golden plunger and much much more. And we can’t wait to see you back next summer!
And for our Full session campers the adventure continues! Thanks for joining us for the ride.
