EPIC Day at Camp!
EPIC Day at Camp!
GOOOD MORNING CAMP TIMBERLAKE, IT’S A NEWWWWWW DAYYYYYY!!! That’s right, it’s a new day here at Camp Timberlake and what a day it was. Today was full of awesome trips, amazing activities, and EPIC adventures. Today’s breakfast was one that many people refer to as “Shapes” (The long lost cousin to “Geometry Breakfast”). It had biscuits, eggs, sausage, cheese, and hashbrowns. Yummmm. Then after that we went on to the chapel and then to CLEAN THOSE CABINS! Where Little Slaty scored a PERFECT 10!!! (Parents pay attention). We then moved on to the activities portion of the day, and boy was it packed with achievements.
Let’s start at the bottom of camp so it’s easier to follow. First up, at the lake, Reid S. got his final task done to finally lock down that canoeing gold, good from him. We look forward to seeing him going down some class 4 rapids in his trusty dug-out in the near future. Just next to him on the water we had our local rocket scientists cooking up some masterful flying machines where Grant S. and Declan Q. got their silver and gold, respectively. Maybe one day these two will be the first men to plant the Star-Spangled Banner on Mars. Moving on over to our ranges we had two archers from both ends of camp getting some solid shots in. Firstly, we had the younger of the two Matty C. who shot 2 10 yd. groupings which is a sign we may see him at the 2032 Olympic games. Then, the Older of the two Quinn S. who managed a grouping at a whopping 30 yds. I don’t think I could manage that if I had Robinhood himself giving me instructions ,so props to him. When it comes to shooting we had another hotshot, this time up at the airsoft arena. Today one particular hotshot Chance M. got his bronze completed. Hey, maybe one day he’ll be as good as me. Speaking of beating others, the missing 4th musketeer Robert R. won 2 fencing bouts in his hosted tournament today. He sure knows his way around a sword. Now to the amazing adventures that happened off campus on one of our trips.
Firstly we had two brave souls Matthew A. and Bay J. go on our most adventurous trip we offer, the multi-pitch climbing trip. Catch these two on top of Everest before school gets back. Next up we had our radical men of mountain biking shredding the ‘nar at the G5 trails over in Old Fort. Those rad shredders included Cian M., Kaito T., David T., Jack S., Zach M., and Theo T. . Getting back on property for the first time in a 24hrs we have our returning overnight canoers including, but not limited to Radford W., David C., Reid S., Allen R., and everyone who went MTN biking. That’s some serious commitment to the steeze. Speaking of steeze we also had our ‘yakers returning from the French Broad Section 9, which if I do say myself is a pretty tough river. This list includes Oliver G., Geo P., Wilson F. and Thomas M. . We have to be quiet when talking about this next group so shhhh, coming back from the river were our fly fishermen Liam B., Nolan O., David T., Steele G., Stephen G, and Will M.
That’s all I have for today!
Till we meet again!
