Father Son Kickoff

Father Son Kickoff
Hello from Father Son weekend! It has been an amazing start to one of our favorite weekends of the year and the best is still yet to come. This afternoon we welcomed a great group of dads and sons to property. Families checked in and explored camp before devouring a delicious dinner of pulled pork, corn pudding and baked beans with brownie delight for dessert.
After dinner we headed up to our council ring where we held a special ceremony: tribal initiation. Here at Timberlake we have two tribes, the mighty black bears and the powerful golden eagles. A boy (or dad) is initiated into a tribe on their first day at Timberlake and once they are in a tribe they are a part of it for life. Tonight we welcomed a great group of new warriors to their tribe.
Our new Golden Eagles are: Coleman J and Patrick J,Dean J and Geordy J, Jack L and Mack L and Luke L,Teddy A Marc A, James B and Sam B, James B and Charles B, Cruz H and Greg H, Thomas M, Field A, Eamon P and James P, Thomas S and William S and Brennan S, Carter S and Bradley S, James S, Will S and Chris S, Connor T and Peter T, Hunter K and Allistair K, David C, Tyson M, Spencer H

After initiation it was time for our first tribal competition of 2025: Sock War! If you’ve never played sock war before, picture a giant, capture the flag style game where players throw balled up socks at one another to tag them out and you can kind of get the idea. Tonight’s sock war was hard fought and the score was too close to call. We’ll have to wait until tomorrow at lunch to find out who emerged victorious.
As dads and sons settle down for some well earned shut eye in the cabins I can’t help but be extremely thankful to have such a great group of guys here. Be sure to check back in tomorrow to all about our Saturday adventures!
Until next time,
John
