And just like that another amazing Father Son weekend is in the books. Camp feels a little too quiet this afternoon and we’re already missing having our dads and sons here with us. It was wonderful finish to the weekend and I’m here to tell you all about it.

We started things off with a delicious breakfast of pancakes and bacon. We also had options for cereal, yogurt, fruit granola and oatmeal and everybody tucked in. Before we’d had a chance to finish cleaning however, who should arrive but Sir Earl Gray! Sir Earl, as he likes to be called, was once again trying to convince our campers to sign up for his 8 week etiquette class. Thankfully our two favorite brothers, Rex and Dex arrived to save the day. Sir Earl was dismissed and we all left breakfast fired up for martial arts, the octagon and the good ‘ol U S of A.

After breakfast we took our group picture and had a blast singing in chapel and hearing another true story, this one from our very own Caleb Owen. Then it was off to our Sunday Funday activities for the rest of the morning. Options for the guys included: the sand castle building contest, the frog catching contest, the fort building contest, fishing on the bridge, mountain biking the pump track, taking a morning hike back through our trails and a tradition unlike any other, Sunday at the Masters (or disc golf tournament). Needless to say we had a blast.

For lunch we enjoyed cold cuts, chicken salad, fruit, kale mac salad and pumpkin cookies. Most importantly, however, we announced the winner of last night’s sock war…the Black Bears! Congrats to the black bears for rallying to secure the big win!

We are so thankful to have had such a great group of guys here all weekend and we’re thankful to the families who shared them with us too. We can’t wait to see everybody back at camp this summer!
