ITS TIME TO SOAK UP THE SUN YET AGAIN!

There is no better feeling than waking up and knowing that you get to rep  your favorite player because it is JERSDAY Thursday. Today I wore the prettiest jersey to ever exist, the University of North Carolina Tar Heels.

A camp classic of Waffle sticks and sausage greeted the boys to start off the beautiful morning. Heading into chapel the boys sang Star of the Morning, Pharaoh Pharaoh, and I am the Way. Following the camp hymn, a Timberlake legend by the name Brayden Collins, aka yarb yarb, aka Squirttle delivered a true story.

The race for the Golden plunger continued as everyone scurried off to their cabins. Who will win today? Little Slaty? Stomper’s Knob? I guess we will find out soon.

As the morning kicked off a group of brave extreme sport enthusiasts embarked on an overnight climb. They were William L, Trevor S, Owen G, Hammond F, Kieran S, Elias W, Bennett F, JB S, Myer S. Wow that sounds like an amazing trip! Meanwhile, Duke A, Tucker C, Fox S, RH B, Luke S, Andrew K, Owen M, Liam M, Hayden B, Patrick F, and Bronson P all descended deeper into the Earth’s crust on a caving trip.

Just like the weather here this morning, the archery range was flaming as Griggs C got his bronze, Lucas F gathered in groupings in his first ever archery class, and Adams H brought it in strong with even more groupings. I don’t know what Charlie Vedder is teaching them up there but it seems to be working. As we learned today, a group of brave young men will take on the mighty Merri Mac girls later this session in an Archery Tournament. But you’ll have to stay tuned to see the roster drop.

Continuing the blazing theme, Emerson F drained 15 straight free throws to secure that Gold bar in Basketball. Wow that’s a lot of free throws! Also up at the Mark, Eli F got his Gold in field sports. It truly was a golden day up there wasn’t it.

As the morning came to a close, the boys headed down to Greek day for lunch! Gyros were consumed at surprising rates to replenish the energy loss of a  very busy morning. We learned that Reed P was the single victor of Little Slaty Survivor yesterday.  Oh yeah and I guess the race for the golden plunger continued as we learned thatttttt…Little Slaty won today with a 9.5! Wow, that’s one clean cabin. Right before rest time we learned that the winner of Senior camp cabin night was Stomper’s Knob, aka the best cabin. Just kidding, all the cabins had an amazing time. And of course everyone was eager to know who won Junior Camp Sock war. The winner was…….THE GOLDEN EAGLES. Congrats the Eagles but fear not Black Bears as redemption is just a few hours away. The race for the banner continues to be tight but of course it’s always Go Birds!

The afternoon picked up right where we left off as William G earned his silver in Tennis. Meanwhile up at the fencing pavilion Knox D, Cruz D, Roman S, and Jack P all got their fencing bronzes. That’s some impressive foiling. Samuel S and William C were tearing it up on the disc golf course earning their bronze bars. Down on the lake, Canoeing classes learned how to rescue each other when they flip over. Free time and the rest of the afternoon filled everyone with laughs and smiles but emptied everyone’s energy. Everyone piled back into the Tuck to enjoy some amazing Orange chicken and rice for dinner followed by the best dessert at camp, Oreo Dream.

Then out of nowhere, the Sultan of Fun appeared and announced tonight’s game as the one and only Mission Impossible. Come back tomorrow to see which tribe will move closer to making history!

Each day at camp is unique and action packed fun for everyone. Of course, today was no different.

Catch you on the flip side or maybe the flip stop!
