Not so long ago, in a galaxy very near by, there was a Camp named Timberlake. Today was a splendid Tuesday here at Camp. It was a beautiful sunny day and our ever faithful Mr Hydration was hard at work.  No surprises though because as we all know, “Hydration never takes a vacation!”

We started off today with, in my opinion, one of the best breakfasts at camp, Breakfast Casserole and delicious blueberry muffins! It was the perfect fuel for what we expected to be a fantastic Tropical Tuesday. After breakfast the trips headed out! The rafters, Brooks B., Sam C., Brooks S., Liam T., Thomas H., Alex H., Ward C., Ernest F., Mick L., Francesco P., and James N headed out into section nine of the French Broad river and had a blast paddling down and cooling off in the water as well..

Duncan N., Aidan P., Brody R. Bobby D., Charlie C. Hayes C. Barnes Z. Kolson M. John L., Knox B., and Ethan C went deep into the heart of the earth and explored Worley’s Cave. Unlike Moria, there were fortunately no cave trolls. They emerged back into the light and returned to camp with muddy shoes and big smiles!

Meanwhile, back at the camp… After breakfast we celebrated our great brotherhood with our usual morning yell, and headed over to  the chapel where we spent some time in worship and got to hear a great true story by Stomper’s Knob counselor, Wells F, who told us about a muddy misadventure, and related it to how we need Jesus to cleanse us. We then headed to cabin clean up for another day in the fight for the golden plunger. It’s been a sparkling first 2 days so far! Tune in at lunch to see who won!

Once we had finished organizing and sweeping we excitedly made our way to our first round of activities. We are still on safety talk days so activities can run smoothly, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t action in them! In one of Timberlake’s most popular activities, Archery, Harrison C. got his 40 yard groupings done for Gold and began work on his 50 yard groupings.  Emerson F. completed his silver groupings, and Luke H. nailed his bronze groupings as well. Legolas would be proud!

At lunch we had another great meal which was Stromboli, a camp classic. There were naught but clean plates in sight!  We then found out who won the tribe game the night before. The winner was, can I get a DRUMROLLLL….. The GOLDEN EAGLES! Fear not Black Bear Family, redemption is just a few hours away. We also were informed of the cabin clean up winners. Stomper’s Knob was clean maxxing as usual and won with a fantastic score of 9.75! They’re off to a great start in the race for the coveted golden plunger!

We then made our way to the best time, rest time to relax before getting into the excitement of free time. During free time, some of us charged down to the beach to get our trading post, while others headed to open activities to work on bars. It was an adventure around every corner!

We rolled right into afternoon activities and made the most of this glorious day! Fish were caught, targets were slain, and trails were blazed. It was just one of those afternoons you didn’t want to end!

After that, we were eager for dinner to get some food in our stomachs before our big event this evening. We got to the end of dinner and all of a sudden we heard “ AND NOW” and yells of excitement filled the valley. We then found out that….. Junior Camp gets cabin night and Senior Camp is playing Bandits Rancheros! You’ll have to tune in tomorrow to find out who won!

Today was another amazing day at camp and we cannot wait to see what tomorrow holds because you never know what adventures lie ahead. Peace and Love!
