Today was the last full da of the session and what a fun and full day it was! We started things off with a delicious breakfast of sausage links, scrambled eggs and breakfast potatoes before heading over the bridge to chapel.

We had a few final excursions leave property today for adventures outside of camp. Titus W, John Grady M, Jack C, Cameron R, Gage S and Robert D headed out to do some fly fishing on the North Toe. Meanwhile Henry L, Duncan M, Will W, Ross M, Cash K, Xavier B, Charlie M, Preston C, Levi G, Sam R, Tyler R and Malachi W got the chance to cruise down the mighty whitewater of the French Broad river on a rafting trip today.

The final morning of daily activities went swimmingly, with Liles F and Owen C stroking some great ground strokes in tennis, Reynolds A putting his gold bar skills to use in Fencing and Andre D, Bob E, Patrick H and Nick VS playing some epic world cup in Field sports. Additionally, Thomas R and Chase O crushed the big air bag jump in mountain biking.

Lunch was, as usual, delicious. We scarfed down some chicken wings, onion rings, carrots, celery and pineapple. The soup bar was also a big hit today. After the meal was cleared we announced the winner of this session’s GOLDEN PLUNGER, the coveted award that goes the cleanest cabin at camp. This session the winner was Stomper’s Knob! Way to go boys! We also announced the winner of last night’s tribal game of battle ball…the Black Bears! It’s been a back and forth battle all session between the Golden Eagles and the Black Bears and we’re all anxious to hear which tribe will emerge victorious in the banner competition.

After some rest time, Trading Post, and free time the boys were surprised with one more epic tribal game, Commando! Picture an epic water balloon war with over 8,000 balloons and you can get the general picture. The winner of this game was kept secret so as to make tomorrow’s banner announcement more mysterious, but both tribes gave it their all.

After a scrumptious dinner of country fried steak, mashed potatoes, green bean and rolls the sultan of fun emerged one last time to announce tonight’s activity, Final Campfire! Final campfire is a very special ceremony that concludes each session at camp. We do all of the normal Little chief awards (see below) and then spend some time sharing our favorite memories from the session. The highlight of the event is when all the campers who are in their final year at camp get to give a speech. The guys did a great job tonight and we were really proud of all of them.

As we settle down tonight for a good night’s rest we are so thankful for an amazing camp session and we’re excited to see everybody at closing ceremony in them morning!
