Cowboy Joe Day
Cowboy Joe Day
Today was a special day at Camp Timberlake. I know what you’re thinking, isn’t every day special at Camp Timberlake? But today was Cowboy Joe day. On Cowboy Joe Day, we do things backwards. We talk backwards, we walk backwards, we even do our schedule backwards. First, Cowboy Joe day started with doughnuts, we call them nut doughs, and chocolate milk delivered to everyone’s cabin for breakfast in bed (along with some granola bars and yogurt). Next, we found out that we were playing battle ball for our evening activity. We normally play our evening activity last, so naturally we do that first on Cowboy Joe Day. After the evening activity, we all walked backwards to the Tuck where we ate a hearty meal of chicken and waffles. After lunch, we had free time and trading post where campers get a snack and a drink if they do well on cabin cleanup. In a complete upset, Huckleberry won cabin clean up today absolutely demolishing the field. Following free time was the best time, rest time. After rest time, campers went to their second and first period activities, in that order. Same as every Cowboy Joe Day we met up for dinner at the beach where we enjoyed some BBQ and mac-n-cheese. Following dinner, we had the evening yell and chapel. The end of chapel unveiled the super secret second evening activity of commando. Word on the street is that the outcome of this evening activity could decide who takes home the banner this Thursday at closing ceremonies. Cowboy Joe Day, or Day Joe Boy Cow as we call it, is always a great change of pace and fun day for everyone involved.
