It was jam-packed from start to finish and there almost wasn’t enough time in the day to squeeze in all the fun to be had. We started the day off with a simply scrumptious meal of waffle sticks and sausage links.

After breakfast, the boys went outside for a socially distant morning yell to get the day going and to showcase their new camp buffs that are worn when within six feet of other people outside of our cabins. As it was the first day of activities, each
activity gave a safety talk to make sure everyone starts off on the right foot. For lunch today there was a
camp favorite, mini corndogs and mac and cheese.

The winners of cabin cleanup and the previous day’s evening activity are announced after lunch is finished and the mighty Iroquois won the opening day game of sock war. There was a surprise twist for senior camp cabin cleanup as the cabins of Greybeard and Stompers Knob tied and in junior camp, Further In swept in for the win.

While all of the activities were gearing up for the session, camp sent out its first trip. Duncan N, Simeon S, Paxton S, Dumisami M, Britt M, and Cort P went out to Curtis Creek for a fly fishing trip!

After everyone was back together at camp, we came together for a dinner of delicious ravioli with sides of broccoli and cheddar biscuits followed up with Oreo pudding for dessert. As camp tradition dictates, the Sultan of Fun announces the night’s evening activity after dinner, and we had four planned for the evening! For junior camp, the neighborhood of the Golden Eagles played a brand new game of California Kickball, which is a kooky version of kickball made just for camp in which there is no limit to how many times you can run around the bases, and the Black Bear neighborhood played stealing skins at the outback. In senior camp, the Red Fox neighborhood played great escape and the Blue Herons played El Presidente. At this point, you may be thinking to yourself that the day is over, but we squeezed even more in for the Black Bear neighborhood! They got to end a perfect day with an exciting free swim full of rope swinging and jumps off the tower.
