The start of our last week at Camp Timberlake was filled with mystic loveliness! As the bugle blew to wake us up this morning, campers raced down to the Tuck for a scrumptious breakfast of french toast and sausage! Campers headed outside for the morning yell led by our very own John M. At chapel this morning we sang some great songs like “Shine, Jesus, Shine” as well as “Amazing Grace”. After singing the camp hymn together, we heard a true story from David R about who Jesus is and how he cleanses us.

We then headed to the cabins for some cleanup time before heading to our first activities of the day. This morning on the lake was lots of fun! Chase C practiced his strokes in canoeing while Theo T earned his silver in disc golf! Great job boys! There were also some awesome adventures going on outside of camp today. On the fly fishing trip today was Jimmy T, David L, Cash K, Stephen G, and Steele G. On the kayaking trip was Thomas M, Boone K, Geo P, and Oliver G. Fly fishing had an excellent trip. Stephen G caught an awesome rainbow trout!

After our morning activities wrapped up, we headed to lunch at the Tuck for a delicious meal of chicken quesadillas and pears with a camp favorite, broccoli cheddar soup! We heard some cabin inspection scores as the race for the Golden Plunger continues. Little Piney and Further In tied with a near perfect 9.75! After lunch, we made our way to the best time, rest time, where campers wrote letters, read books, or took naps to recharge for free time and afternoon activities!

This afternoon, Liam B earned his silver in fencing, and Edwin K earned his bronze in rocketry. Pottery started glazing their beautiful masterpieces today while rocketry got to launch some rockets, and fencing had some fun duels! Due to a rainstorm during fourth period, Junior camp went to the Mark for an epic game of battle ball whereas Senior camp met at the Tuck for some quizzical trivia with everything from sports to movies to Camp Timberlake trivia! So fun! As the rain cleared and the sky was blue once again, we made our way back to the Tuck for a fantastic dinner of pasta with sausage, garlic biscuits, broccoli and rice krispie treats for dessert! As we wrapped up dinner and announcements, our Sultan of Fun, Henry B announced that Senior camp was playing “Stealing Skins” and Junior camp was having cabin night!

Tonight, Huckleberry is hanging out at Spyglass hill having s’mores, Finch’s Landing is having fun on the slip ’n slide and raiding the trading post, Further Up is having a Tuck party, Further In is playing games in the Mark and having s’mores at the chapel, Hawksbill and Turtleback is having free swim at the lake!!! Check back tomorrow to hear more and see who won “Stealing Skins”!

Happy camping!
