Happy Friday from camp!

Today we woke up to a beautiful sunny day here at Timberlake! After reveille, everyone went down to The Tuck for a camp favorite, breakfast casserole and blueberry muffins. After eating and doing the morning yell, campers headed over to the chapel to sing songs and hear a true story from none other than Director John. Boys then set off to clean their cabins in hopes they would win first place, the race for the Golden Plunger is already tight!

Our morning activities kick-started with boys eager to work on multiple types of skills in riflery, archery, field sports, kayaking, basketball, climbing, and many others. This morning, Gus S, Parker J, and Sam G crushed the “Christmas route” on the tower. Adams H also got his first grouping in riflery. While our boys at camp were doing activities, our trips headed out for their adventures. Today, our Kayakers (James H, Talton A, Sean A, Myer S, Charlie T, and Kenny C) went to the Lower Green. A Day Hike to Upper Creek Falls went out with Alex B, Andrew K, Connall S, Henry O, Banks P, Mason S, Finn S, Jamie V, Ryker R, Will C, and Wilson B. Finally Climbing went to Beacon Heights to Boulder with Sanders H, John P, David F, Carson B, Chris C, and Andrew I.

After working up an appetite from morning activities, the boys headed back to The Tuck for chicken sandwiches and waffle fries. Our after lunch announcements started and drum roll please………Greybeard won cabin clean up today with a perfect 10 and the Black Bears won Age of Empires! Rest time came at the perfect time, and then everyone could follow up their naps with some delicious treats from trading posts, with a free swim for junior and intermediate camps and a chance to shop at the Timberlake clothing store for senior camp. Free time wrapped up and afternoon activities started.

3rd and 4th periods were a hit, no afternoon showers today! This afternoon, Alex B caught a large crappy first cast. Activities ended and campers headed to dinner, which was  turkey, potatoes, peas, and rolls-YUM! We followed up with a tasty cake with icing for dessert. Now for everyone’s favorite announcement AND NOW……….. Senior Camp Cabin Night and Junior/Intermediate Camp Stealing Skins. Senior Camp cabins will spend the evening with their cabins doing different activities: swimming, smores, battleball, board camps, raiding the trading post, and others, while Junior and Intermediate Camp play Stealing Skins. Another fabulous day at camp is coming to a close and we are all looking forward to our first Timberlake Saturday of the summer.

Happy Camping!
