What’s going on Timberfam,

Tuesday was another beautiful day at Camp Timberlake in North Carolina and a very eventful and fun day for campers! We had all our normal activities today and boys were hitting bullseyes, splashing three’s from downtown, and we even had a special activity for them today, but I’ll save that for a little later. We started out our day with the “beautiful” sound of the morning reveille. We got up quick and put on our tropical shirts for “Tropical Tuesday”. We then made our way down to breakfast with haste to eat, in my opinion, one of the best breakfasts we’ve had this year. We ate french toast sticks that were crispy and delicious, complemented by sausage patties and our favorite bowls of cereal, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Cocoa Puffs among the favorites everyday.

After breakfast was over, we headed down to the stairs for our famous morning yell that always wakes us up and gets us ready and excited for the day. After the morning yell, we headed to the chapel for some amazing and joyful singing and worship of the Lord. Then we got an amazing sermon and true story with John Menendez (El Niñooooo) that touched everyone’s hearts. After a beautiful prayer by John, it was time to CLEAN THOSE CABINS! The highest score for cabin cleanup today was Tiger Tooth!

We had some rafters hit the French Broad for a great day of whitewater rafting. Andrew K, Wyatt F, Alex B, Ashton M, Duma M, Aiden M, Kai L, George S, Case M, Eric D, Ben W and Jayse B all surfed and boofed their way to a great day.

The rafters weren’t the only ones to hit the water today as we also had a group of guys do a kayaking trip to the catawba river. Tobias C, Carson S, Andrew T, Grayson P, Roman RF, Alexander S, Reed P, and Parker J styled it today and came back to camp all smiles after a great day of adventure.

The campers then headed to their first activity and second activities where they had a blast! They then headed down to lunch for another one of the best meals I’ve had at camp, philly cheesesteaks with curly fries, and let me say, they absolutely loved it! The Black Bears were named the winners of last night’s tribal games, and they were very excited about that win. As the Black Bears sung their hymns, the Golden Eagles were all thinking about getting their redemption at tonight’s evening activity. Some boys then headed to 3rd and 4th period to their activities and some boys had signed up for that special activity… THE ADVENTURE RACE! The adventure race consisted of 5 challenges the campers had to complete and then make it to the finish line before everyone else. The 5 teams competing today were Team Florida Men, comprised of Carson B., David K., Chris C., and James W., Team South Carolina Turn Dinger comprised of Tucker L., David F., Stephen J., and Cade D., Team Wizards comprised of  Neil R., Zach W., Andrew I., and Macrae E., Team Adams Family comprised of Henry V., Adams H., Nathan W. and Edward T., and Team Merica comprised of William F., Robbie G., Luke T., and Pace W.. The winners of the adventure race were the….Wizards! During the day we had lots of great achievements by campers! Gus T. got his gold in diving, Reed P. got his bronze in canoeing, David F. got his gold in archery, Alston M. got his bronze in climbing, Sewell B. and Rives J. got their silver in swimming and Solomon P. got his gold in improv. For dinner we had barbecue chicken with compliments of rolls, green peas, and potato balls. After dinner it was time for the evening activity which was….Battle for Middle Earth!! It was an epic battle to see which tribe could score the most points in areas such as the Battle of Helm’s Deep or The Mines of Moria, score points by out shooting Legolas in archery, or finding the one ring and either throwing the evil into Mt.Doom or using it for your own power! Overall it was another adventure and fun filled day at Timberlake and we can’t wait for what tomorrow brings!
