A cool, and brisk morning kicked off an epic Tropical Tuesday!

We jumped right into the day with a delicious breakfast consisting of French Toasts sticks, and sausage patties. A big breakfast gave everyone the energy they needed to make today an action packed day. Following a morning yell led by none other than Jake Highfield, the boys rushed off to chapel. Today in Chapel we sang Noah, Every Move I make, Jordan’s Stormy Banks, and of course the Camp Hymn. A powerful true story given by Grant about what the cross is and what it represents. Just like that the cabins were back in a close fight for the golden plunger. Who will come out victorious today?

Meanwhile, 3 great adventures went out on epic trips. Oliver M, Max C, Jack C, Stewart W, Carrick S, Robert B, Eli M, Max S, Todd Michael P, Beckett A, SJ G, and Luke P all hiked into Upper Creek Falls to enjoy epic natural rock sliding. An epic adventure was topped off with a rope swing.

Out on the river, Boone R, Bay J, Ben B, Garret M, Jameson S, Eli H, Charlie, S, Lawson H, Knox W, Drew F, Darby M, Luca V, and Mac S all paddled their way across the river on a epic white water rafting trip.

Out on a different river, 6 fishers consisting of Turner B, Eli B, Reid L, John S, Lynwood W, and Andrew S set out on a fly fishing adventure.

It’s safe to say that today was a busy day around camp. The morning started off quickly with Andrew M and Carson M getting their silvers in tennis. Right up the road at the mark, Landon K got his silver in fitness while Wilson F got his gold. Just inside Weston E got his silver in basketball. Before we knew it the bugle sounded and it was time to head to lunch.

After a crazy action packed morning, we all refueled with corn dogs and Mac & Cheese. A surprising end to cabin clean up today resulted in Little Slaty taking home the win. Turtleback finished up in second place inching closer to the title as the cleanest cabin. Will Turtleback hold on or was today foreshadowing for later this week? Tune in to find out! The Sultan made an appearance to cap off the meal. He announced that the winner of Super Mario Bro’s AND Mission Impossible to be…. THE GOLDEN EAGLES! The Black Bears will have to wait and see for tonight’s game and a shot at redemption.

Following a much needed rest time, free time and the afternoon activities picked up right where the morning stopped. Ryan H shot a Gold archery grouping. On the other range, David C got his silver in Riflery. Moving down to the lake Sam H. earned his Bronze and learned how to roll in kayaking. In perhaps one othe most exciting updates of the session, we had two of our older guys attempt to complete their Deerslayer as they worked towards their gold bar in wrestling. Landon K and Reid S first had to recite Theodore Roosevelt’s famous “Man in the Arena” speech from memory in front of the entire dining hall. Not only is it a powerful reminder in general, but it sets the stage appropriately as the guys get ready to attempt a physical challenge that many do not succeed in. In this case, however, I am happy to report that both boys emerged from the lake several hours later having successfully finished the last leg of their Deerslayer challenge. Well done boys!

A fun filled afternoon was topped off with a refreshing rain shower before we all headed to dinner.Tonight for dinner, we enjoyed Hawaiian meatballs and pasta with a Chocolate cake for dessert. The boys were again in the presence of the sultan who announced that tonight senior camp would embark on a battle of Bandits Rancheros while junior and intermediate camp would have a shaving cream war and the slip n slide. Who will become victorious? (Please be the Golden Eagles)

An action packed day comes to an end as the sun sets down across Spyglass hill! Thank you all for tuning in and remember Go Eagles!
