A fantastic and full day at camp
A fantastic and full day at camp
As Session 3A nears its grand finale, the excitement around camp shows no signs of slowing down! Today kicked off with what we like to call a “geometry breakfast” — because let’s be honest, nothing adds up quite like biscuits, sausage patties, circle shaped eggs, and crispy hash browns! Campers fueled up with those mathematically perfect portions before heading out for another jam-packed day.
After breakfast, our voices rang out loud and proud during the morning yell, echoing off the trees like a Timberlake tradition should. After a chapel consisting of some meaningful reflections about trusting and having true faith in God, the day shifted into full gear with classes, trips, and some incredible camper accomplishments!
At the climbing tower, Charles T made an impressive ascent by completing all naturals, a challenge that takes grit, strength, and a whole lot of determination. Meanwhile, out on the lake, Oliver G paddled his way to earning his silver bar in canoeing.
In the world of music, Parker S and Nick Q both struck the right chord and earned their silver bars in guitar! A huge accomplishment that showcases just how far their talent has come this session. On the court, Hayden D and Tolly O played hard and earned their bronze bars in basketball, showing impressive teamwork and dedication.
And let’s not forget Ryan H, who had an amazing day by earning his gold bar in both archery and rocketry. That’s right, precision in the air and on the ground!
Lunch brought comfort and warmth in the form of grilled cheese sandwiches, creamy tomato soup, and fan-favorite waffle fries. Lunch also brought us the winners of today’s cabin cleanup: Turtleback! Great job to all of our clean cabins! Another exciting announcement was the winner of Bandits Rancheros was the Golden Eagles! Fear not Black Bears, for redemption is only a few hours away.
Today also saw two incredible out-of-camp trips! Our climbers scaled new heights on a climbing expedition led by a courageous crew: Parker M, Connor T, Patrick H, Allen B, Smith B, Andrew M, Peyton H, Powers T, William E, and Will B. Whether bouldering or belaying, these boys represented Timberlake with skill and spirit. Meanwhile, another group made a splash on our river snorkeling adventure. Geo PC, Cian M, Matthew A, Eli V, Carson M, Christian C, Michael B, Carter S, and Chase S took to the water to explore the wonders beneath the surface!
Tonight, the fun continues with a classic Timberlake favorite: Commando! Picture this—water balloons flying, strategic sneakiness, and a whole lot of friendly chaos as tribes compete under the setting sun. It’s the perfect way to cool off and close out the day with a splash.
After the madness of the tribal game some of the older cabins enjoyed some extra cabin time together as we near the end of session. Greybeard got to go to John and Catherine’s house for some chocolate chip pancakes. Little Piney enjoyed a free swim while Tomahawk spent some extra time up at the mark shooting hoops. And Stomper’s Knob headed up to Spyglass Hill (the tallest point at camp) for some s’mores and a night under the stars.
Stay tuned to see who rises victorious in tonight’s battle and what delicious surprise dinner awaits us. As always, life at Timberlake is full of adventure, laughter, and memories we’ll carry long after the session ends.
Until next time,
