The day dawned bright and clear over Lake Newcomb as hungry campers rolled down the hill excited to much on a delicious breakfast of eggs, biscuits and gravy. Fueled up for a ton of fun, we headed to chapel to sing and hear a true story before cleaning those cabins. It was a super tight race for the golden plunger this session but one cabin separated itself and won the crown…Turtleback! 

We had two awesome trips leave property today. First, Walker F, Theo T, Kaito T, Asher C, Beckett B, Reid S, William E, David C and Baine B went on an epic disc golf trip, playing 18 holes at a great local course. Second, Oliver G, Geo P-C, Cian M, Bay J, Thomas R and Wilson F took on the mighty nantahala for some kayaking fun. 

At lunch we enjoyed a camp classic: Tacos in a Bag! We also announced the winner of last night’s game of commando…the Black Bears!

Tonight we held our Little Chief ceremony, which gives us a chance to recognize some of the outstanding growth we have seen in cabins, activities and servant leadership this week. While the ceremony can only capture a small slice of all the amazing things happening at camp, it is nonetheless good to stop and slow down to recognize some of the amazing things these guys are doing!
