An epic start to Father Son Weekend!
An epic start to Father Son Weekend!
It’s the first weekend of October here at Timberlake and that means it’s time for Father Son Weekend! This afternoon we had a great group of dads and sons arrive at camp ready for a full weekend of adventure and fun.
After checking in and unpacking, the guys had a few minutes to explore camp before dinner. When the bell rang at 5:30, we were all ready to try out some camp food and the dining hall did not disappoint. Tonight we enjoyed sliced beef brisket sandwiches, corn pudding and of course, macaroni and cheese. Dessert was another camp favorite: banana pudding. After the meal the Sultan of Fun himself emerged to announce our evening activities: Initiation and Battleball!
Here at Camp Timberlake we have two tribes: the mighty black bears and the powerful golden eagles. You are initiated into a tribe on your first day at camp and once you are in a tribe, you are in it for life. Tonight we initiated a fantastic group and it was so much fun for our returning dads and sons to welcome in the new members.
Our new Black Bears are: Kevin C, James C, Noah H, Blake H, Robert I, Bobby I, Jameson F, David F, William S, Will S, Thomas K, David K, Mach M, Heath M, Jack M, Tim M, Henry B, French B, Bennett W, Shawn W, Charles C, and Charlie C
Our new Golden Eagles are: Steve G, Craig H, Charles R, Josh D, Maclin R, Creigh N, Derek N, Blake B, Neil B, Ryan M, Dave M, Grant D, Trent D, Banks P, Danny P, Mac B, Josh B, John B, Fitz M, Temp M, Benny B, and Shaun B
After initiation we headed to our gym (we call it The Mark) for an epic game of battleball. Battleball is Timberlake’s version of dodgeball and it is a blast. A great time was had by all and we topped off the evening with some delicious milk and cookies.
As the guys settle down for some well earned rest the moon is rising over the mountains here at Timberlake. It’s been a perfect start and we can’t wait to see what tomorrow will bring.
Until next time,
John
