Happy Wednesday from Camp Timberlake!

This morning, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast of hashbrown casserole and blueberry muffins to get us fueled for the day ahead. Following that, Jake H and Brayden C led us in a very exciting yet inaudible camp yell! Bringing us straight into chapel where we heard a great true story from Joey B about an incident involving his brother Beckett and a malett…. Once chapel concluded we sent out 3 exciting trips of kayaking, an overnight climbing, and mountain biking. Max S, Kellan P, Sam H, Grant S, Richard R, Braxton B, Thomas R, Max C and Franco G adventured to the Catwaba river where they all flourished on the rapids. Meanwhile SJ G, Eli B, Powers T, Gherig C, Sam R, and Pick D are at Linville Table Rock where they will be climbing today and tomorrow!

Lunch was spent with a lot of anticipation for the upcoming World Cup game between England and Argentina, a lot of back and forth on who the campers believed would win. While they debated they enjoyed chicken sandwiches and waffle fries. Then, Stompers Knob exceeded all other cabins in cabin cleanup with a score of a 9.75! Following, Jake H announced the winners of yesterday’s tribal games where the Golden Eagles conquered the Black Bears in both junior and intermediate camp “Bandits and Rancheros” and senior camp “Great Escape”.

After lunch concluded the boys headed for a much needed rest time after a morning of fun and activities. This afternoon we had Connor T, Andrew S, Stewart W, William B, Eli M and Porter B return from an amazing session of mountain biking where they shredded some trails at Lake James! However, camp was still in full swing here with great fun from Lake Newcomb, all the way up to Spencer’s Green, as Reynolds A received his Gold bar in Field Sports and Harris R and Henry L received their bronze on the range in archery! David C demonstrated some top level shooting in rifelry. Finley R also embraced his inner Mark Cuban with what some would call an impeccable shark tank pitch during his improv class!

After devouring a delicious dinner of pasta with breadsticks and assorted veggies, The legendary Sultan of Fun, Jake H announced in dramatic fashion that the boys would be playing a camp favorite, El Presidente as the tribal game for the night. Excitement was brewing throughout the entire Tuck in preparation for the game, as I watch them walk to their cabin to prepare for the fun ahead, I thank y’all for hanging out with us today!
