Tropical Timberlake Tuesday- The Ole Triple T
Tropical Timberlake Tuesday- The Ole Triple T
Welcome back Camp Timberlake friends and families!
I am here to take you through our awesome and amazing tropical Tuesday at camp! Every day at camp is great, but it’s even better when we start the morning with my personal favorite: geometry breakfast! It’s a known fact that fun shapes just make food taste better.
The campers left breakfast and were energized by our daily morning yell given by some amazing Junior camp counselors. Next up, the campers headed to the chapel where our very own Winston led an awesome message about a dangerous mountain biking crash and how God saves us from our sins. The great race for the Golden Plunger then commenced as cabin cleanup swept the camp. Give it up for the dauntless undertaking of Turtleback for being today’s big winners.
As the weather warmed up and the sun continued to rise in the sky, we had several campers leave on some amazing trips out of camp. Wilson F, Thomas R, Reynolds A, and David C all continued on their journey in competing at Camp Cup. Good luck, boys! A mountain biking trip consisting of Reid S, Pick D, Eli M, Aaron S, Benjamin H, Charlie P, Davis O, and Chase S took on DuPont Forest. Lastly, Oliver H, Garrett M, Michael B, Michael B, Christian C, Powers T, Max Ciallella, Reid L, Oliver M, and Sam R went on an incredible adventure river snorkeling! What a great day of adventure outside of camp.
Back at camp, much adventure was still waiting to be had. Hayes C. received his silver in fencing finishing his final requirement of 4 bout wins and Micah J received his bronze. A 2 vs. 2 airsoft tournament was held and Luiz E. and Parker S reigned victorious. Nearby on the crooked mile, Hampton C, Eli B, and Turner B ran the great stretch twice!
For lunch, we had what I consider a top 5 lunch meal at camp: Greek Day. Campers enjoyed pita pockets of meat, tzatziki sauce, hummus, tomato, olives, and the best topping of all- feta cheese. You can never go wrong with Greek day at camp. Black bears took the victory for junior intermediate camp sock war. Never fret Golden Eagles, redemption is just a few short hours away.
Today at camp was a day of great accomplishments. Receiving their bronze in airsoft today was Sam N, Braxton B, Parker S, and James S. Grant S earned his bronze and silver in field sports today. Down the road at backpacking, James A, Baine B, and Harris R all completed their one match fire. Beckett B, Rocco M, and Turner B all gained their bronze in archery. Jack S ran the crooked mile 6 times in 2 weeks. Great work boys!
Dinner was served as the Tuck filled with the tropical scent of Hawiian meatballs and pasta and was completed with delicious vanilla cake with sprinkles. As bellies were filled, a spirit of determination and tribal victory crept into the room. Campers were hanging on to the anticipation of finding out tonight’s big game. Give me a drumroll because it’s…………… Commando!!!
Stay tuned for the winners of this great battle tomorrow.
