HAW-YEE CAMP TIMBERLAKE! 

That’s right, today was Cowboy Joe day. Before bed last night, campers were read the legend of Cowboy Joe. He was a strange man who did everything backwards. Campers were woken up with breakfast in bed and loud music after sleeping in for a full hour! The breakfast consisted of Cowboy Joe’s famous Nut-Dos and chocolate milk instead of white milk.

Since the schedule today was backwards, after breakfast the boys went straight into cabin cleanup followed by tribal battle ball at the mark. The final game of battle ball was between Greybeard and Staff with Greybeard narrowly losing. Following the morning activity was 4th period and then lunch. 

Brunch (chicken and waffles) was for lunch today and all the senior camp counselors “flop flipped” with the junior and intermediate camp counselors. Typically the campers sit with their cabin counselors but today it was fun to switch things up and have the senior camp counselors hang with the junior campers and vice versa for the meal. You’re proooobably wondering who won cabin cleaning today. Although most of the scores were not great today, Stompers Knob was able to win with a 9.0. With only one day left in the race for the golden plunger Stompers Knob has almost surely secured their spot on the top of the podium. This golden plunger would be a 3-peat for the summer which would be quite a feat. You’re also prooooobably wondering who won commando last night . . . THE GOLDEN EAGLES!!! [Bird Noises] This puts the powerful Golden Eagles ahead in the race for the banner this session as they try to go 3/3 this summer. 

After lunch, campers ran to the trading post to get sugared up for the various activities open during free time today as they try to finish up bars for the Little Chief ceremony tomorrow night. Some of the bars today include Luke M (Bronze – Mountain Biking), Parker S (Bronze – Wrestling), Ford C (Bronze – Wrestling), and Hayes C did an awesome monologue for Gold in Improv. The bugle then rang and sent them on to the best time (rest time), where a few staff members attended bible study with John. 3rd period was after that and then a rainy 2nd period. 

BBQ pulled pork and mac and cheese was for dinner and one of my favorites, the m&m cookies, were for dessert. AND NOWWWWW . . . OOOOOOOOO . . . COUNTY FAIR!!! Not so fast however. Everyone followed Nolan and Ferda Dan outside for the evening yell. That was where the campers yelled as loud as the mesas stampeding across the horses. Then everyone went to chapel, staying off the grass of course. Finally, it was time for the county fair where everyone is currently having fun in the rain. 

Rafting took a trip today, consisting of Grayson J, Theo L, Graham N, Kellan P, Grant S, Jack T, Bobby B, James N, Jake L, Gibbs C, Micah J, and Nico G. On this trip Kellan P and Grant S doing their best viking impression and carried the boats all by themselves. 

There were two Rappel trips today. The morning group had Jameson S, Wade G, Powers T, Finley R, and Oliver M. The afternoon group had Max C, Sam H, Sam R, Banks D, and Tyler T. These guys got to rappel down a massive waterfall at Tom’s Creek. It was an epic adventure they will never forget.  

Our mountain bikers also returned today after two full days of riding in Dupont. Reid S, Pick D, Eli M, Aaron S, Benjamin H, Charlie P, and Davis O crushed it our there on the trails. 

Finally, Hawksbill’s very own Liles F caught a 7 inch bass today!
