Another great week here at camp! Today was our last full day with this group of campers and we have had an incredible session and start to the summer. This morning our guys had sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwiches. We moved along to chapel we sang Noah, In His Name, and On Jordan’s Stormy Banks and heard a true story from John Menendez.

Morning activities started and river snorkeling went off on their trip to explore the aquatic life of the Linville river. Andrew K, Owen M, Duke A, Tucker C, Tucker L, Henry L, Wes H Ashton M, Kenny C and Hayden B all reported that a great time was had and many river creatures were spotted!

Lunch came quickly where we had chicken salad sandwiches and saratoga handmade chips. Stomper’s Knob won cabin clean up today with a perfect 10 and the long awaited announcement of who won commando…..THE BLACK BEARS!!!! At the end of each session it is announced who maintained the cleanest cabin during cabin clean up and the winners keep a golden plunger in their cabin. For session 1A 2026 the winner of the golden plunger is BULL RUN!!! Campers ran off to rest time, trading post, and free time. Afternoon activities started and some of our junior and intermediate campers left to go on a day hike. Logan S, Will G, Grayson , Tobias C, Waylon P, William G, Graeme W, EJ W, Peter D, Spencer B, William C and Brady K summit lookout mountain in beautiful montreat. The views were spectacular and the trading post they brought along to enjoy at the top was delicious!

The bugle rang and we ran to dinner to have a delicious meal of sausage penne pasta, italian style bread rolls and roasted broccoli. And for dessert it was milk and cookies! The kitchen treated us to snickerdoodles tonight (my personal favorite). This evening we are pausing our tribal games to have our Little Chief ceremony. This ceremony allows us to celebrate and recognize the many wonderful things our guys are doing in activities and cabin life. We start with counselor and camper commendations. The highest promotion that boys can earn at camp is Little Chief and can only be earned in their last year. This promotion is something special and does not get awarded each week. These boys work hard for many years to reach this and tonight we have two boys earning their Little Chief.
